RAD Card Announcement & Webinar Link
With Tuolumne County small businesses reeling from the pandemic, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors is partnering with RAD Card for a ‘win-win’ program to put some dollars in local wallets while incentivizing spending at county restaurants, services, and retailers. Utilizing $500,000 of American Rescue Plan funding and $15,000 from Visit Tuolumne, the County of Tuolumne is launching an economic stimulus card that doubles in value the moment it is purchased. It is called the RAD card, or Relief Across DoMo a program that originated in Modesto.
Each resident, visitor, or shopper can have up to $100 matched by the County to spend.
Consumer dollar match is first come, first serve.
Qualifying businesses will need to sign up, as will shoppers, and it utilizes a mobile smartphone app for payment.
Businesses will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and apply to accept funds during a webinar hosted by the Tuolumne County Innovation and Business Assistance on November 22, 2021 at 9:00am.
The link is https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84615813101 and the webinar will be recorded for those who cannot attend.
Materials on how to apply as a business and consumer will be released at or prior to the November 22nd webinar.
How does it work? When a customer downloads the RAD Card app, their purchase amount of either $25, $50, $75 or $100 is automatically matched, doubling the funds in the customer’s RAD Card account. The customer’s app is then assigned a unique QR code and can be scanned by participating restaurants and retailers when a transaction occurs.
It is important to note that this is not a physical gift card to keep in a wallet; rather, it is a completely touchless mobile experiencefrom a smartphone app.
The County of Tuolumne is looking forward to The RAD Card program stimulating our local economy, providing relief for businesses, and helping with some last minute holiday shopping.
